Waghjai Mata Temple – Rawde (Hulawalevadi) Village, Mulshi
the eighth Durga, the Waghjai Mata Temple in the Rawde Hulawalevadi village.
Friends, if we go ahead from Paud on the Kolwan Road, there is a road on the left-hand side that leads to Bhadas village. On this road, atop the hill in Hulawalevadi, there is a natural cave where the village deity Waghjai and the forest god have rice-shaped idols. There are two caves side by side, with the village deities residing in them.
During the festival of Navratri, a large number of devotees visit this temple to have darshan (view) of the goddess. The area around the temple serves as a natural open auditorium due to the cave’s exterior. The villagers have built a small temple for the forest god and have created steps leading to it. Beneath the steps, there is a lamp chain, and nearby, there is a freshwater spring.
From the temple, the view of the Mulshi taluka, with its free-sprawling natural landscape, is mesmerizing. A large fair is held here every year on the full moon night of Chaitra, dedicated to Waghjai and the forest god.
When you are in Mulshi taluka, make sure to visit this Waghjai Mata Temple on the side road.
Thank you.
