Taljai Mata Temple in Lavale, Mulshi – Navdurga of Mulshi Taluka
The ninth Durga for today is Taljai Mata from Lavale village. Located in the Dudhane Wasti of Lavale, there is a large temple dedicated to Taljai Mata on the banks of a pond. A few years ago, this temple underwent renovation, and now it boasts a grand hall. The idol of the Goddess in the temple is made of rice, and during Navratri, a large number of devotees come to seek blessings. Among these devotees, many are from Mumbai.
The villagers organize various events at the temple throughout the year. A major event is held on Chaitra Shuddha Shashthi (the sixth day of the bright fortnight in the Chaitra month). Since the temple is situated on the banks of a pond, the surrounding atmosphere is peaceful and picturesque. The area around the temple is clean and surrounded by nature, making the time spent there feel timeless.
If you ever visit Lavale village, don’t forget to pay a visit to the Taljai Mata Temple.
