Zakhubai Mata Temple in Chale Village, Mulshi – Navdurga of Mulshi
Greetings! On the occasion of the Navratri festival, we are learning about the Navdurga (Nine Durgas) of Mulshi Taluka. Today, our fourth Durga is Zakhubai Mata from Chalegaon. Situated on the Paud-Kolvan highway at the beginning of Chalegaon in Mulshi Taluka, there is the temple of Zakhubai Devi. The temple is constructed with wood, and the hall (Sabhamandap) is spacious. Inside, the idol of the goddess is made of black stone and is a four-armed (Chaturbhuj) idol, which is well-known for its vermilion marks.
A special feature of this temple is that during Navratri, the “Ghatasthapana” (the installation of the sacred pot) is done, and it lasts for nine days. However, the “Ghata” (sacred pot) at this temple lasts for seven days. During the Navratri period, the villagers organize various events and programs. When you visit the Kolvan Valley, you should definitely make a visit to the Zakhubai Mata Temple.
Thank you.
